New WIC-2402™ Wireless CAN Module Provides Dependable Control and Fast Performance

MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis. - April 17, 2014 - Magnetek, Inc., a leading provider of digital power and motion control systems, today announced the introduction of their WIC-2402™ Wireless CAN Module. The WIC-2402 is an efficient and flexible wireless data system that connects CAN-based devices without the need for interconnecting wires. WIC-2402 transmits and receives (transceives) all CAN messages present on the CAN-bus network as if they were wired.

“The WIC-2402 transceiver is ideal for mobile applications that need access to stationary-based CAN-bus networks,” said Eugene Novak, Magnetek’s radio controls development and product manager. “It increases reliability by removing the cable, which is a potential failure point within many systems.”

WIC-2402 supports any type of Bosch 2.0 CAN network, including J1939, Device Net, Parker ICP, and more, with little or no programming. RCP (Radio Control Programmer) can be used to configure which CAN messages are transmitted wirelessly through the use of message filters. A basic system includes one server module, a client module, and all necessary hardware. Custom configurations are available to meet almost any application.
